What is Q235 angle steel?

Q235 angle steel, commonly known as angle iron, is a long strip of steel with two sides perpendicular to each other, forming an angle. It is divided into equal-sided angle steel and unequal-sided angle steel. Equal-sided angle steel has two sides of equal width.

Its specifications are expressed in millimeters as side width × side width × side thickness. It can also be represented by a model number, which is the side width in centimeters, such as ∠3#. The model number does not indicate different side thicknesses within the same model; therefore, the side width and thickness dimensions of 1 angle steel should be fully specified on contracts and other documents to avoid using only the model number.

Hot-rolled equal-sided angle steel specifications range from 2# to 20#.

Applications: Q235B angle steel can be used to form various load-bearing components according to different structural needs, and can also be used as connecting parts between components. Orders for imported and exported angle steel are generally based on the specifications required for use, and the steel grade is the corresponding carbon structural steel grade. In other words, besides the specification number, angle steel does not have a specific composition or performance series.
