Product Description
Spring steel wire, one of the four major steel varieties, comes in sheet, tube, profile, and wire. It is a processed product made from hot-rolled wire rod through cold drawing. Different types of spring steel wire require different production methods, but all require a certain level of strength, high toughness, and good coiling properties.
Lead-quenched spring steel wire: Quenched in a lead bath at the wire rod size or intermediate gauge between cold drawing and final size, then surface treated and drawn.
Galvanized spring steel wire: Typically hot-dip or electroplated at the final size, although some wire rods are pickled, hot-dip, and then cold-drawn to the specified size.
