H-beam, also known as wide-rim I-beam, is widely used in steel structure buildings. Compared with reinforced concrete structures, it has the advantages of good seismic performance, high component strength, light weight, reduced foundation engineering, and lower construction costs; at the same time, steel structure buildings have large spans, small structural footprints, large usable areas, easy dry construction, reduced noise, and environmental protection.
According to the use requirements and cross-sectional design characteristics, H-beams are usually divided into two categories: one is H-beams used as beam-type building components, and the other is H-beams used as column-type (or pile-type) building components.
H-shaped steel is mainly used for beams and columns in civil building steel structures, load-bearing brackets, pipeline brackets, transport bridge brackets, and mine brackets in industrial building steel structures; blast furnace frames, industrial floor beams; steel piles and supporting structures in underground projects; brackets for industrial equipment such as petroleum, chemical, and electric power, large-span steel bridge components, and offshore oil production platforms, etc. It has a very wide range of applications.
